During the Hellenistic period, the Greeks identified Aphrodite with the goddess Isis. She was worshipped in the ancient city of Alexandria and had numerous temples in and around the city. Her lore and myth evolved over the ages from Greek to Roman (then known as Venus) and her story often changed depending on who was speaking. Much like any famous and beautiful woman today there was jealousy and fascination. Who was she really? I know her as a supporter of beauty and love, a carrier of the divine feminine energy and a protector and champion of women... who demands you love yourself and know your worth. Who will not suffer disrespect. I promised her a year ago that by the rise of summer she would have new pieces created in her honor. This is the Vessel Necklace. A a symbol of fertility the "vessel" became an association of hers. But remember its "birthing" is not just about infants but ideas, projects, art... a divinely creative pool to drink from.
